Another one from Aaj TV. The title says "DG ISI briefs PM.." and the picture ....

Monday, November 24, 2008

Aaj TV jumps in ... they are no lesser fools. Why should GEO always win.
They updated their title story from yesterday, but probably forgot to change the image.
This one shows pic of a Pak origin Brit who was killed in US drone bombing 2 days ago, while the news if of French FM comments on US troop increase in Afghanistan.

IOWA or LOWA?

Today was a day of "Change". US voters decided to change their ruling party, and elected an African American as their president.
GEO changes something too. Their pathetic news girl, the same Sana Mirza, kept on announcing several times that Obama has won in the US state of "LOWA". While the Americans like to call this place IOWA, GEO changed its name on the day of change.

:D
Incompetent Fools !!!!

Cheers,

Whats a "0" between friends !!!!!!!

Another one at http://www.geo.tv/11-3-2008/28056.htm
The text says that the shard has "5" lines of text whereas these fools put an image for the news item that has no less than 50 lines.
A friend of mine cuts a joke as I tell him this; "Thank God they have not shown the image of a braying politician with this news" :D.

Sometimes I wonder how many bloopers will we discover if we were their regular readers. :D

God save us all.

Cheers;

Pakistan "WOULD JOIN ARMS RACE" - The hapless GEO

Another one, much more stupid.
They are telling us that army chief said Pakistan "would join in the race for arms" whereas he said exactly the opposite. Pakistan ""would not join in the race for arms" (http://www.geo.tv/10-25-2008/27557.htm)

If by any chance you think it was one odd mistake where the typist "missed" the word NOT, unfortunately, no sir.

You can find a meaning changing error in almost everything GEO does.

The other day, one of their sifarshi news girl, I guess her name is Sana Mirza, was talking to IG Punjab (Police) on air, about the unfortunate blast at the daira of a MNA in Bhakkar. The poor IG told her everything very patiently, some 3-4 minutes I guess. And while she has nothing more to ask, guess what she did?
Unbelievably, she asked the IG on air, "to repeat everything he has said already", for those who have just tuned in !!!.
Of course the helpless IG snubbed her in a polite manner.

These guys are bad. :D

A Blooper by GEO News

Hi there,

Came across an interesting news item on GEO.TV at (www.geo.tv/10-15-2008/26937.htm). According to them, David Beckham is a Pakistani American (the word used is Peshawari American) , and has been arrested-then-released in NWFP. (Image below)

Unfortunately Pakistani TV channels hardly verify things before putting them on air/web/paper. Nobody seems to be allowed to challenge them, apparently in the name of FREE-MEDIA. I sometimes wonder, "What is freedom?", "How free should one be, if he is negatively affecting other peoples lives?", "How free can a mad person be left?".

On a lighter side, most of their reporters probably used to drive cabs before joining, and many of their camera men probably used to seek a photography careers on places like Mazar-e-Quaid (Karachi), Shahi Qila (Lahore) and Shakar Parian (Islamabad). The media boom has certainly landed them in much undeserved positions. :)

These guys need to grow up. Media has too much power to be left in the hands of imbeciles. Its like a mad man having a nuclear bomb. Its probably because of their irresponsible handling of media power that our nation is in a shroud of gloom and hopelessness.

Best Regards,

Nadeem Kureshi

THE FLEDGLING AND OFT-BLUNDERING PAKISTANI

Pakistani Electronic Media, particularly the TV channels spearheaded by operators like Geo News, ARY OneWorld, Aaj TV, Express News etc. are a case study of sorts.

They are in a critical growing phase of their lives where competition is being defined, though yet its not deciding winners and losers. Most of their staff (Reporters, Camera-persons, Anchors etc) are absolutely untrained (read terribly unprofessional); and so often you can see hopeless blunders.

We understand that in this phase of growth, a few problems need to be overlooked; but there are others which need to be highlighted and brought to light so that not only they grow well, but also the effect of their blunders on the daily lives of their poor victims (The people of Pakistan).

While some of their acts are designed to bring hope and positivism to the society, their acts mostly are adding to the despondency that generally prevails in the Pakistani society.

This blog aims at highlighting what we feel about their acts; so their is some voice which lets them know how good or bad they are.

The qualification to add here is being a thinking person, so you are all welcome.
